Dr Bellaney has had a specific interest in cutaneous surgery since the onset of his Dermatology training. He completed the last 2 years of his specialist training in the United Kingdom at St Johns Institute of Dermatology and the Churchill Hospital Oxford as well as private practice training in London. His skin cancer surgical practice covers all aspects of skin cancer surgery including flaps and grafts and Mohs surgery which ensures the skin cancer is completely excised at the time of surgery.
He completed his European Society of Mohs micrographic surgery training during his year at Oxford as well as spending some time training in Portugal. During this time he also received some training in Tumescent Liposuction. This was further enhanced by specific Tumescent Liposuction training in the USA and Australia. He was the first specialist to introduce Tumescent Liposuction to the South Island.
He has performed over 15,000 cutaneous surgery procedures and his current practice evolves around cutaneous surgery - specifically skin cancer surgery and Tumescent Liposuction.
